Better MiWay Service for Ward 5

Reliable public transit matters to Ward 5 residents who depend on MiWay to reach work, school, appointments, Malton GO, Pearson Airport and major employment areas.

The Hazel McCallion Line is a provincially owned project led by Metrolinx. While City Council can advocate for residents, it does not independently control the project’s schedule.

That is why, in my first year as Ward 5 Councillor, I will focus on what the City can influence: MiWay service in Ward 5.

I will push for a Ward 5 transit service review focused on:

• Malton and Derry Road routes
• Overcrowding and long wait times
• More reliable bus service
• Better connections to Malton GO, Pearson Airport and employment areas
• Improved evening and weekend service where ridership and community needs justify it

My commitment is straightforward: listen to riders, use the data, push for practical improvements and report back to Ward 5 residents.

My goal is practical: shorter waits where demand justifies them, more reliable buses, stronger connections and MiWay service that better reflects the daily needs of Ward 5 residents.
